Mental Health counseling offers you support when you most need it. Learning about HIV/AIDS and managing treatment can be a confusing and emotionally draining process. An integral component of Ryan's health services for people living with HIV/AIDS is the Mental Health Program for Adults.

Ryan's Mental Health Program's Certified Social Workers offer safe, confidential, and supportive counseling and psychotherapy to persons living with HIV/AIDS.

Coping with HIV/AIDS is stressful whether you have no prior history of receiving Mental Health services, or you are a substance user, have a history of relapse, or have pre-existing mental health problems which may be exacerbated by an HIV diagnosis.

All people living with HIV/AIDS who require Mental Health counseling participate in the development of their own health services plan in collaboration with Ryan's HIV Services Case Management and Harm Reduction Specialists.

For further information about Mental Health services at the Ryan Center, please call: 212/769-7229.

Mental Health Services for Adults include:

  • Intake and Assessment
  • Family and Group Therapy
  • Follow Up Encounters
  • Individual Therapy
  • Psychiatric Evaluation
  • Psychiatric Visits
  • Reassessment
