Welcome to HIV/AIDS Services at the Ryan Center. Since the onset of the AIDS epidemic, the Ryan Center has been at the forefront of community health care for people living with HIV/AIDS, by providing affordable, effective and culturally sensitive care,in a confidential and nonjudgmental manner, and regardless of ability to pay.

Members of the HIV Services team are with you every step of the way, listening to your individual needs and ensuring that you receive the best personal care. Ryan's staff understands that to treat the physical symptoms of the virus effectively we must help you to address all of your needs, and hopefully, reduce stress in other areas of your life.

Ryan’s HIV Clinical Care Program provides culturally sensitive, bilingual primary care for people living with HIV, and is dedicated to making the most up-to-date treatment options available to its patients. The HIV Clinical Care Coordinator meets with every new patient to answer questions about HIV and treatment, and to arrange an initial appointment with a primary care practitioner. For established patients, the HIV Clinical Care Coordinator has an open-door policy to address any questions or concerns regarding their care.

Ryan's coordinated HIV Services are organized to address the entire range of challenges faced by people living with HIV/AIDS. HIV Services Program at the Ryan Center consist of seven distinct program areas:

  1. Prevention Education and Outreach;
  2. Primary Healthcare (including confidential HIV counseling and testing);
  3. Case Management;
  4. Mental Health Counseling;
  5. Harm Reduction Services;
  6. The Special Health Outreach to Urban Teens (S.H.O.U.T) Mobile Medical Van; and
  7. The Air Bridge Network.

Ryan’s commitment to quality care is also reflected in the New York State AIDS Institute’s rating its care higher on average than that of State Designated AIDS Centers.
