Harm Reduction and Substance Abuse, along with Case Management and Mental Health Services, is a cornerstone of the Ryan approach to integrated patient care in HIV Services.

Harm Reduction offers coping skills for those at risk. If you are a recovering or active drug user and are HIV infected, you can benefit from individual counseling, group meetings, acupuncture and peer education with an emphasis on self-acceptance, exploration of personal patterns, and the development of individual initiative and readiness for change.

Harm Reduction also works closely with the Peer Education Program, wherein peers assist in the various aspects of the HIV Services Program, while advancing as professionals in the health care field.

For further information about Harm Reduction services, relapse prevention, and harm reduction groups for active and recovering users, please call: 212/769-7229.

Harm Reduction and Substance Abuse services include:

  • Individual Counseling
  • Group Meetings
  • Acupuncture Treatments
  • Health Education
